Memorial Day Weekend!

Well Thursday before the weekend Addie started crawling forward. (Oh) Our Houston weekend guests were not able to come up due to illness. Fortunately we still had a lot of food and a clean house. Friday Addie turned 8 months old. Neighbors, the Bustamantes and Newsomes stopped by on Friday night for Margaritas and Smores. (Amy's Idea). Saturday we took Addie swimming for the first time. She loved it. Andrew also got his new BBQ grill, a father's day gift. On Saturday Night we had Tiffany Berridge and two of her sons Drew age 4 and Paul age 8 months (20 days older than Addie) and the Newsome to, swim, fajitas, and visiting. Paul is so adorable! A beautiful baby and we have added him to the list of possible husbands for Addie. Addie found him most interesting and would "try" to talk to him sitting inches from him and yelling at the top of her voice. It was hilarious! He would make a few noises back but I think he would have preferred Addison not speak so loudly. She will have to work on her "game." Then on Saturday we had Amy's Cousin Kevin, The Millers with their 7 month old daughter and Addie's friend Hadley. The McDowell's and their children Nolan and 4 month-old daughter Natalie also joined in the baby games. Carol Lee, her mother Grace Lee, Roger Glick, and Green family also joined us. Addie got to go swimming with her friend Hadley. Addie went under water a few times. She was able to not inhale the water but seemed very surprised by the event. She still loves swimming. We cooked hot dogs and swatted at the flies and mosquitoes. Kara Fredley joined us later in the evening. Kevin spent the night and then he took the Prathers out for lunch at China Cafe (Amy's favorite.) We had so much fun.

Currently we are growing, tomatoes, strawberries, cabbage, onions, bell peppers, cucumbers, green beans, pumpkins, mold, grapes, weeds, cats, and a baby. - Wish us luck!

Trying to Catch Up

Well we have been pretty busy and I haven't been able to keep up with all the new things going on in Addie's life. Over the last two months she has:
Mastered Rolling
Started Creeping
Can Use her Walker
Has two teeth.
Went to Houston for a trip

Addison's First Trip to the Capital

Today we took Addison on her first outing. The plan was for a picnic with friends at the Zilker Park Kite Festival but over 1000 people were already there. So we made a detour and had our picnic on the grounds of the capital. You can see in some of the early pictures Addie may be a little confused as to what we are looking at but she caught on and joined in the fun. - Thanks Aunt Alicia.

Addison eating!

Okay so the doctor gave us the okay to start cereal and Addison has been eating cereal since 1/28 when she turned 4 months. She is not really that into it. So last night I decided to try her on something different and gave her the first tastes of pears. I have since learned you should start with vegetables but oh well. So she LOVED the pears and here is the video to prove it.



However, the pears had 12 grams of sugar. Now I did not feed her but a quarter of that amount but it is her first exposure to sugar. This was the result.




She did this for at least 15 minutes and might have gone longer but I gave her a bath. Oh and do you see her responding to her name. Of course she also responds to Rhonda, Francis, Geraldine, but it sure is cute.

Valentine's

We had a very nice Valentine's Weekend. We celebrated on Friday. Andrew came home to Addison in her Valentine Outfit, Glitter Hearts on the Walls, a good smelling candle, and heart shaped cupcakes lovingly decorated by his wife. He brought a fantastic dinner from TX Roadhouse. Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!!

Addison 4 Months

Addison is 4 months now. She is ranked 80th percentile on length and 75th on weight. She "usually" sleeps through the night. She keeps both her parents very busy. Here are some cute photographs to start off 4 months. Click on picture for more.

Milestones

Addison started sleeping in her crib (still using the mini bed) on 12/27. On 12/28 she started sleeping 10-11 hours at night. She is increasing what she eats by 2 oz due to the missed night feeds. She reached out and touched both her mommy and daddy's faces while playing today. She coos and smiles all the time (not for pictures). Occasionally there is a rare giggle. She can roll over from stomach to back but likes to do this best naked. She is almost ready to do back to stomach. She can claps her hands together. She loves her bath, rocking, and talking to her dolls. It is so much fun being her mommy. A friend with a newborn asked me if it got easier. I told her no but it gets much more enjoyable.
